To compare this book to the LEFT BEHIND series would be unfair. The LEFT BEHIND series is a "fictional telling" of the events that happen in the Book of Revelations (the end of the world as we know it). This book is a story that "hints" to the events in the Book of Revelations. The two stories are way different. The only thing I didn't like about this book was that it spent way too much time dealing with politics, especially with the UN. Also the author would go through all the trouble of getting you involved with a character and then you never hear about them again. Maybe he is building up for the next two books. Anyway, it peaked my interest enough to read the next book to find out what happens to Christopher (Jesus' clone). I thought the author did well in explaining how they were able to clone Jesus. I thought it was pretty ingenious.
UPDATE: After reading the entire series, DON'T STOP AT THE FIRST BOOK! Read the entire series. There are a bunch of surprises throughout. Amazing trilogy.

I picked up this book more interested in the cloning of Jesus than another end times book. After a scientist discovers living cells on the Shroud of Turin, he clones them in order to understand more about Jesus. The book focuses more on the world events leading up to the end times, but the child himself has memories of events in Jesus' life. The rest of the book centers on Israel, the UN, and global politics as the end of the world draws near. I found the writing a bit detached, with too much focus on political details than human relationships. The characters come off as wooden caricatures. However, there are some interesting twists, and I am still intrigued enough to check out the sequels.

I am normally not into sci-fi, but , this is an odd idea. An idea of cloning Christ from dna from the shroud of turin. I know that this book may sound really way out there , but it is a good work of fiction 7 I can't wait to read the next books. There are three in this series. Is he the Lord incarnate? Or the anti-christ? I will keep reading until I know. Very good read. This author is up-to-date on Biblical facts, UN facts, current event facts. He is good & knows his stuff.
