I haven't seen any other posts on this, other than the Data Editing group ....

The info you can edit for a book has been changed.  Where you used to be able to only assign a subject at 2 levels (leaving Historical Fiction hanging at "Literature & Fiction > Genre Fiction"), you can now go to 3 levels, so we can use "Literature & Fiction > Genre Fiction > Historical".

Obviously, this impacts other genres as well, but I thought this exciting for the previously-hard to find genre we all love.

Cheers,

Catt

Catt,

Thanks for posting on this. I noticed the added subject level when I posted a book that Valli snagged about 3 minutes later. LOL!

But I didn't really think about it. I wonder if this is a way to address the ineffective tags issue - for searching purposes, that is.

That makes me VERY happy to say the least. I always hated that HF was grouped in with all the other so- called "genre fiction" and I had to browse through stuff I had no interest in to find the HF I wanted. I will start trying to go through and make sure that all the HF I come across is in the right sub-category from now on.

me too, i have always wondered how we got to the prior indexing structure and to whom that made sense.  i will recategorize my shelf with the new sub-category.

This is great news! Now, if only there were some way to get people to post H/F in the proper genre. I find it everywhere!

You shouldn't tell on me, Genie! Now, everyone will know I have all the good books and I'll end up with a rabid historical fiction hunting mob outside my home! :-D

AND I just noticed that when you edit the book data, if the book is under several categories, they ALL come up when you click on the edit button.   Always something new and exciting around here.

ETA it also now asks you to list what it is you are editing: author, desc ription, spelling....p-r-e-t-t-y- kewlllll
