If you are going to be unable to check your account for 5 days would you put it on hold?

It would be cutting it pretty fine not to.  I would, especially since I would probably be doing something time-consuming and stressful and not want to have to rush to package up books the second I got home.

I would, yes. It's just one less thing you have to think/worry about.

I would.  You can always auto request any WL books you're near the top for so you don't miss them. But I wouldn't want to have to worry about checking my account right away.  Better safe than sorry.

I'd say any time you won't be able to check you account or email for 48 hours or more, but then I just don't like waiting months on a wishlist only to miss out.

As long as you have a credit for it.

When I'm going to be gone for any length of time I put mine on hold and then (if possible) take it off about 48 hours before I'll be back on-line.  It's always worked well for me.  Pat
