This was one of the "required reading" for adoptive parents with the agency we used. I wasn't sure about the parenting strategy espoused by the author until I tried it. While I wouldn't wholeheartedly endorse it, it was invaluable for establishing bonding and attachment when we adopted our toddlers.

This book is for families struggling with attachment issues with their children- especially those from the foster and adoption systems who have already been thru the mill with several temporary homes.

I love this book! It has helped me tremendously with my 4yr old & 2yr old. My 4yr old was so colicky in the beginning that it was almost a chore to try to bond with him but this book has helped so much. He now comes up to me and wants to cuddle and hug and tell me about his day. It's really made it a joy to be a parent again. I can't wait to use it when we adopt! My oldest came from Romania and has severe institutionalized behaviors, this book would have helped so much 10yrs ago.
