The second book in Mary Stewart's classic Arthurian tale, following The Crystal Cave.

I thought this was the best of her series, but her series is not the best of the Arthurian sagas. Good ... but not as great as Jack Whyte or Lawhead or Attanasio or others I'm not selling!

The classic second book in the Arthur legend, told with Merlin as the centerpeice. A must read for lovers of the Arthurian cycle.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book 20 years ago and reading it, with its predecessor, The Crystal Cave, and reading them again has been a joy. Mary Stewart wrote a fabulous series. I would recommend it to any fan of Merlin and the Arthurian Legend.

This book gives a totally new perspective of Merlin, one I hadn't read about before. Gives a bit of a different twist to the Arther and Camelot stories I've read in the past. this is the second in the trilogy and am now looking forward to the third book. Good read!
