Everything you always wondered about in Cannes France at Film Festival time in the month of May. Definitely where the elite meet - and wheel and deal - and sometimes bring a a great deal of happiness to some talented filmmakers who are "discovered" at these film showings - an exhaustive program for eleven days. At the beginning, films were attributed directly to their "country of origin (and financing)". In recent decades, films are made and financed internationally - so they are all "universally produced", even though the judges have to have translation interpreters on every foreign film they view.
