I was also somewhat disappointed. The book was a bride quartet wanna be. It glided from start to finish -- no conflict, no angst, no worries.

Lucy is an event planner. She has agreed to manage the biggest profile wedding of her career which will take place in her hometown, at her family's inn. She left town never wanting to return for a reason which is obvious on page 2 and is stated on about page 50.

Her childhood sweeheart is there waiting. All goes smoothly. The book spends a lot of time on the details of planning the wedding yet not enough time to really understands what it takes.

I liked her FBI novels and Mercy Street novels much better.

I am pretty disappointed in this latest installment of Chesapeake Diaries. It was mundane, it dragged on forever, and most of the book was useless trivia or chatter. This book wasn't about the romance, it was about event planning.

Remembering all of the character relationships and enjoying the new ones as well as learning some of the "secrets" make this a great read. A relaxing and most enjoyable time.
