Check out this link! I read this on Yahoo for this new movie called 'Paranormal Activity' that sounds and looks pretty good. Unfortunately, my area doesn't have it showing right now but I did sign the form requesting it in my area. Otherwise I will just wait for dvd release. I think if this got some ad time and was widely shown in theaters, this would do better than say the Halloween remakes from Rob Zombie. (Sorry, totally hate these remakes and his movies in general but that is a whole different topic)

Hey Nicole

This morning I watched the trailer and did the request in my area thing. I hope I remember to keep an eye out for it when it comes out on DVD.

Wow Nicole,

I thought I was the only one who didn't like Rob Zombie movies!!!  This one looks interesting.

I saw an article on Paranormal Activity- it looks really intriguing (I just hope its not another Blair Witch, where there's nothing to see and nothing scary about it).  I also can't stand Rob Zombie and his Halloween remakes annoy the crap out of me.  Michael Myers has no business being a sad, little orphan.  He came from a good family, he's just naturally evil.  And why is Sheri Moon in everything Rob does?  Don't they ever need a break from each other?

I haven't seen any ads for Paranormal Activity, but I just saw a new promo for a show on Discovery called Ghost Lab that begins October 6.  It's like Ghost Hunters except they have more high-tech equipment.  I love all that stuff.  I'll have to check into the Paranormal movie.

I'd been hearing such great reviews about this movie - lots of family members have seen it over the past few weeks & they were saying that the audience goes nuts - people yelling & crying.  My son & his gf saw it Friday night and said a boy (around 13) ran wailing out of the theatre.   My 14 yr old son had been begging me to take him  & so I took him and a friend yesterday.  For those who don't want to hear a thing about the content don't read below.  I'm not giving away the plot, but am mentioning the content regarding the R rating (for those thinking of taking anyone under 18).     POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD.

I wanted to make sure that the R rating wasn't sex-related & it wasn't.  No boobs or sex scenes that would make me feel awkward with my almost 15 yr old son..  The rating is probably for the cursing that is sprinkled throughout the movie.  And some of the scenes might be too intensely spooky for younger kids.  Even when I was on line - I spoke to a woman about my age and she said that last week she went with her 18 & 16 yr old daughters & both are still petrified when laying in bed.  Even my niece & nephew (in their mid-20s) said the movie comes back to them at night.

I must be old and jaded or maybe I my expectations were too high because while I thought it was worth the ticket price and did have some creepy scenes - I was expecting a little more.    On a side note, last night I got up to go to the bathroom around 2:00 am and was surprised to see that my son's bedroom light was still on.   This morning he sheepishly told me that the movie did come back to him once he was in bed & he left the light on because he couldn't sleep.  He's never done that before - not even a night light when he was little.
