According to the author, the stories in this book are true and he provides transcripts and contact information for his sources, as well as describing his own experiences talking to participants. There are parts which are understandably frightening, but this isn't a mere book of horror stories. The characters are interesting and enough background is given to the accounts. Some of the descriptions of demonic encounters are meant to be shocking or even titillating (ie: "The Virgin and the Girl-Fixer"). Easy reading but enough substance to be worth the time spent. Pick it up for an enjoyable afternoon of spooky fun.

I loved this book. It is detailed, but not too detailed to bore me. With this subject, I believe that you need detail to understand the goings-on. It was scary, but I didn't feel the need to put the book down or fear for myself (as some on Amazon wrote).
