As far as house plant care goes, this book is fairly basic, but as a guide to identifying house plants, this book is excellent!

A combination of photos & well-done illustrations creates a pretty comprehensive picture of what is out in the marketplace - or inside your home. The Ivy section shows 19 varieties; the Philo section 15. Cacti are particularly well represented & many of the subtle differences between them are detailed. With 250 pages, there are a lot of plants described in this book, making it a valuable resource for devoted amateurs, serious hobbiests, even folks in the plant business.

Again, not a lot of great detail about cultural requirements for your house plants, but this book will sure as heck help you figure out what you have!

An Excellent book full of all the necessary care information for the common and un-common houseplants. I'm a florist and it has taught me a tremendous amount I never knew.
