Early in the week I requested a hardback that is part of a series.

The member accepted the request.  Then, the next day, I get a PM that says, "I can't remember what condition I listed this book as----But I just wanted you to know that my dog chewed on part of one corner of it.  I tried to tape it back together.  Just wanted to let you know before I sent the book."

I PM the member back.  I tell him that this site does not 'allow' members to list individual conditions of books.  I told him that his book does not meet PBS standards, since it was chewed on by his dog.  I told him where to find the information in the Help Docs----I quoted them in my PM back to him.

I then cancelled the order----Because I didn't want there to be any possibility of me actually getting this book.

Now-----When I try to order the book (from someone else), the request goes right back to this guy with an unpostable book on his bookshelf.  I've tried for the last 2 days----Still getting the same guy.

So-----What do I do now?  How do I get around the 1st guy, so that I can request this from another member??

You have to ask him to cancel it - that way you can escape this loop.  Once he cancels, it should go to the next person.

He really should remove this book from his shelf altogether.

PM the 1st guy and ask him to take his book off or to refuse your order.  Or set up a RC for that book so that he has to refuse - this would be the easiest on you.

And send feedback to TPTB, quoting the PM he sent you about his dog chewing it.

Yes, definitely send the PM to the PBS team so they too can tell him pet chewed books aren't allowed to be swapped here.
