How do I add books to my bookshelf without posting them? When I receive books they go on my shelf "on hold" but how can I do this with the books I already have?

You can put your shelf on vacation, post books then use the option to hold individual books before coming off hold.  Any books on individual hold will not be moving up FIFO.  So I don't really see the hurry to do this.  But that's how.  Just make sure any WL books you post are on individual hold before you come off vacation.

I don't want the books on my BIR list as I have not read them. I will try the vacation hold thing. Thanks for helping. If anyone else has any ideas, please let me know.

Why don't you just put them on your TBR pile then you can see which books are WL and which aren't-and just post them as you read them.

Hi Mary,

I have put them on my TBR list, but the problem is that because there are other books that I want to read that I do not yet own, I don't know which are which. And if it is on my bookshelf, I also know if it is on someone else's wishlist and then maybe I'll decide to read that one first so I can pass it along.
