I found some free books off the ebook week thread. They were available in PDF format. How do I get these loaded on my Nook? I can't get them to load in to ADE to sync to the Nook.

Thanks!

You saved the PDFs to your hard drive?  Then, open up ADE and click on "Library" and then "add item to Library'.  Navigate to the folder you stored those PDFs in when you downloaded them, click on the one you want to add so its file name appears in the File Name box and then the Open on that same window.  That'll get the PDF into ADE for you.

Nancy, I did some googling to see if I could find an answer for that one and then tried it out on some ebooks I had misnamed in ADE like you described.  What I came up wtih is no, not really possible.  At least I had no luck with it.  The name of the book has to do with the metadata encoded into the PDF.  ADE doesn't let you change that.  A program like Calibre does allow that though.  Calibre is free also.

I did see someone say once she got the files onto her device (a Sony in her case), that the ereader itself let her rename the file on there.

I started out with ADE for all my ebooks but once I got an ereader, I started using Calibre.  I love Calibre!  Very easy to change the metadata and then sideload onto a Nook.
