I tend to have 3 going at once.  I usually have a WL book going that I'm being super careful not to damage.  I like to read while I eat bfast and lunch and in the tub so I usually have an old or beat up book going as well.  Then I tend to keep one in the car to read if I'm waiting for my daughter to get out of one of her classes.  Amazingly I manage to keep track of them all.

At least one but sometimes 2 or 3 if one is really bad or I'm skimming.  Some books I read over and over (like Outlander or Ransom) and I read  a chapter or two a day.

I've only recently started having several going at once, and on average it's 4 but has been as high as 8.  It drives my DH crazy!

I usually have only one going at  a time. Rarely more than that. Sometimes I'll put one down if a good one comes in the mail, but I finish one and go back and finish the other. Sometimes I'll grab a paperback to take with me if I'm currently reading a hardcover, but that's rare.

I usually have at least three.  One that I am making myself read or at least skim to reduce the TBR pile.  The one I am really into.  And the back up.  The last two go into my purse whenever I leave even for a few minutes (hey, something could happen and it could turn out to be longer).  I pick them up along with the car keys. I once finished a book while I was out and about waiting on my husband and didn't have another one to start.  That only happened once!

I usually have 3-4 going on at once.  Sometimes the same genre but more than likely one from a mystery or sci-fi bent and the rest are romance.

I forgot to mention that I usually have an audiobook going as well.  I like to listen to audios while I'm out walking or working in the yard.  My house is usually it's cleanest when I have a really good audio book going. I put it on and clean.

I really don't like to have more than one going, but if I'm reading a hardcover, I need a paperback to take to the gym. And I also use more beat-up books when I hot tub.  I have three going at the moment, none of which I'm really that thrilled by.

Usually 3 or 4, plus my Bible. One romantic suspense (sometimes 2), one non-fiction and one inspirational or Bible Study Guide. Oh yeah, now I'm having to add whatever book by son is reading for PreAP English....just finished Cold Mountain and next will be Divine Comedy/Inferno by Dante. I guess these will have to replace one of my romances. Yippee!
