I was curious how often you check your mailbox? Around here we have the community boxes. Ours is  a few blocks over and on the opposite side of the street for the route we typically drive. I find we only pick up mail 2, maybe 3 times a week.

For those of  you who don't have delivery to your house - do you pick up mail every day?

I have home delivery and I check it everyday.  But my parents and inlaws both have PO boxes adn they only check them about twice a week.  Sometimes my Inlaws only go once a week.  They are both retired and if they ahve no where to go then they don't check.  My mom still works so she goes every other day or so-more if she's expecting something important or near the PO.

I get my mail every day, but packages get left in our apartment office if we aren't there, so sometimes I don't get packages except every couple of days, since the office is only open at certain times and they often conflict with my husband's or my schedules.

OMG, getting the mail is the highlight of my day! Sure, that's kinda sad, but I'd walk blocks if I had to! Luckily I don't, as I just drive up to the box (or walk down my path). I'm sad on days when there's a postal holiday (or Sundays) and can't imagine only getting it a few days per week!

Well, I have to drive 20 miles one way to get to my post office box, so, about 3 times a week.  I wish I could check it every day, I love getting mail!

We have a community box as well, fortunately on the same side of the street and just a block away from our house, so walking to it is really easy and quick. I get the mail almost every day. I may sometimes miss a day, but I get it often enough that nothing sits for more than a day or two.

Mine comes through a slot in my door, but when I had a PO box I would only check once or twice a week unless I was expecting something.

I live in an apartment and packages go to the office. I also work in that office so I get my mail when I work and if I know something is coming I'll stop in on the weekends but usually I just wait until Monday.

I love mail!  Our mailbox is on the other side of the street but I can view it from my front window.  I'd check the mail daily if I could but I'm at work all day so someone else gets it as soon as the postman drops it off.  I'm usually home Saturday to get it and usually wave at the mailman as he drives off down the street to the next box.

Mine is at the bottom of the drive way.  So I will check it each day.  I also have  PO box which I only check about every other week.

I used to get it everyday.  Now it's about once a week, since I've started clinics and have been away from home a lot.

Mine also is a rural box at the bottom of my driveway...if I don't empty it every day the carrier can't put that day's mail in.

Sometimes if I have larger boxes she leaves all my mail outside my front door.  I do ALL my shopping online.

We get the mail everyday-we gets it depends on who is home...all we have to do is stick our upper body out the front door. Of course if there are alot of packages, it might take two hands to get them out of the the box, in which case you have to come completly out on the porch.

LOL, Sue. that's me too.

I've been a city person all my life, so I love to read all the experiences the rural folks take for granted that are so out of my realm (it amazes me how ignorant I was of the differences in lifestyles)..

My mailbox is at the bottom of the driveway, so I get the mail every day. Or almost every day - occasionally I forget.

I live in an apartment and have a mailbox the size of a postcard, so I have to check the mail everyday or it fills up with books and junk mail.

We have home delivery so we check it everyday since our mailbox is on the side of the road.  But, my mom works for the Post Office so when she comes home for lunch, she'll bring me my packages.  :)  I'm very lucky not to have to wait two hours for the mail lady to drive by, I guess.  :)

Since I was in college and got my own mailing address, I have looked forward to the mail every day. It's like Christmas -- checks from clients, books from PBS, books from book clubs, packages from relatives, stuff for my wife. A day with no mail is a day when I need a hug.

We have a rented PMB (private mail box) at a mail and package place, so almost everything goes there, with just a few things coming to our curbside box out front of the house. The PMB place is about 1.2 miles away, round trip, so I go there every day except Sunday or holidays.

We don't have home delivery and we check every day, just because we can now.  Our PO is about a block away if we cut through the backyard, but until DH retired it was closed when we left for work and closed by the time we got home from work. Back then we could only pick it up on Saturday unless we left work early.  I looooooove being able to get the mail so easily now!

I used to get my mail every day when I wasn't working, but now that I work, I have to leave the house before the post office opens, and I don't get home until after they close, and they aren't open on Saturdays, so I'm lucky if I get down there even once a week these days. I'm supposed to have Tuesdays off, which is when I would get the mail, but the past two weeks I've only been getting one day off a week instead of two - Sunday which of course the PO isn't even open.

I have a PO box, and since the post office doesn't open until after I'm supposed to leave for work and is closed when I get home, it makes checking the mail difficult.  I normally check on Wednesdays (and am slightly late to work) and Saturdays.

I live on a rural route and the mail box is at the end of the driveway (5 acres away). IF there is too much to fit in the mailbox, she just drives up to the house and leaves everything on our front porch and honks the horn to let us know its there.

My mailbox is right in front of my house. Mailman runs at 10am almost on the dot everyday so I'm at the door waiting to run out there as soon as he pulls up. Love the packages, hate the bills.
