I checked the system, and I didn't find any one member posting both books, though they are both in the system. I copied the above sentence from a partial reply to a member who'd posted on the deal forum that she was looking for two specific books. Is there a way to check various bookshelves that I haven't figured out yet? The only idea I'd come up with was to find a book I wanted, click on "order this book", click on "order more from member" and then browse that particular members bookshelf, which I assume meant that person was first in the FIFO line. Now chances are that one particular person may not have both books I'd wanted and I'd love to know if there is a way to check additional bookshelves? Does this at all make sense? LOL |

As far as I know, there are only two ways, and neither will nesc find someone.
The second is to search in Box of Books and see if someone who is a BoB member has both. But in general, no. I don't think you can. |

The easiest way I have found is to go to the boxers. Search for one title, then search for the other and see if the same name comes up. If both books are by the same author you could do an author search and then obviously only look at the boxer's shelves that have more than one book by that author.

Kristen, I don't know of anyway either, other than to check the first FIFO person, or Boxers only. If the 2nd, 3rd + however many persons with either of the books are not a boxer, you would have no way of finding out if they had the other book or not, so I don't know what the person was referring to. |

Usually when I'm looking for 2 books from the same author or a series, I post what I'm looking for in that genres board, in my siggy or in the book bazaar. I usually get a response pretty quickly. Usually with a deal offered. When I was collecting a popular romantic thriller series a while back, I posted in the L&R board the ones I had of the series. Someone made me an offer and we worked out a deal for 5 books for 3credits. She even tossed in an unpostable of one of my WL books. Of course the last time I did this no one responded. So I just ordered the 1st one and as luck would have it, they had the other book as well. I needed one book from a series and there were a bunch of boxers with the book. But I didn't get a response when I made a BOB offer. So I put in my siggy the name of the book/author. Within a day I got a BOB offer from someone with that book and ended trading 3 with them. |

One other round about way to search is to check the book reviews. Those that have reviewed a book may not have the book on the shelf at all, but the also might have reviewed one book, but not the other. Personally, I would just put it in my signature that I'm looking for two books, post a bunch, and let the senders contact me. Though I would probably try searching BOB first. Kerry |

There is usually a new thread each month created in the Book Bazaar forum where folks can post what books they are looking for. That would be a great place to put your request. People can then PM you to let you know if they have what your are looking for and even bettter... might offer a deal for you too. Here is the one for this month:(http://www.paperbackswap.com/forum/topic.php?t=103104) |

Once you've clicked on "order this book", then on "order more from member" and then browse that particular member's bookshelf, how do you find out who that member is to send them a PM first? Last Edited on: 3/26/09 6:44 AM ET - Total times edited: 2 |

Once you've placed an order, there'll be a PM button on your account page for that order. Last Edited on: 2/19/08 4:14 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Thanks all for the suggestions. The only idea I'd had was to PM the person I'd just ordered from as Patty said, but as you can see below, I've added to my siggy as suggested above. Hopefully one of the improvements we'll eventually get is the opportunity to search that way. (and might I add... NOT a complaint... I am LOVING PBS dearly!) |
