Sorry for the lame question, but I am not computer literate. I saw the post about excessive PBS cookies degrading computer performance and got worried. How do I clean out my cookies? I have a Sony Vaio notebook that runs on Vista, if that's any help. TIA. |

Hi Linda, I'm assuming you're using Internet Explorer, so go to the top toolbar and click on Tools then Options. Under the General tab there should be a button that either has Delete Cookies or Delete Browsing History. Click on the Delete and it'll remove the cookies. It may take a little time if you have a lot of cookies. Hope this helps! |

Which browser are you using? Firefox and Internet Explorer are the two most common. The thread that you saw shows an unusual occurance. A very unusual occurance. Cookies are very minor little text files that sit on your computer. In most cases, clearing them out will just create a lot of extra work for you since it will wipe out your saved preferences. Unless you're currently having a problem with your performance degrading, I wouldn't delete them just for the sake of deleting them. |
