I have figured out where I can see how many people are wishing for a book that is not posted yet.

I am trying to find a way to see if there is anyway to know how many copies of a particular book are already posted to give me some idea of how long it might be on my bookshelf.  For instance, did I just post the fourth copy of a certain book, or are there 400 ahead of me in the FIFO line?  Someone told me it can be seen if I add it to my reminder list, but I don't think that really suits my need.

Any other ideas??

Right now the only way to do it is to add it to your reminder list....if I'm listing a bunch of books, I type in the ISBN to search for the book, click the reminder list button and go to the next one. When I'm done, I then go to the RL and see how many there are in the system, and  then click on the book details and 'post this book.'

Most of the time I don't really care how many are in the system, I'm going to post the book anyway. But it's kind of interesting to see how many are ahead of you in line. Of course, there's no way to track it *after* that--you can see how many are in the system by doing the same thing again, but then you have no idea where you are in the queue.

I think when the new WL comes into play and they combine the RL and WL-they are going to make it so when you bring a book up it'll say how many are in the system.  I really wish they'd start the new WL already.  I would love to have just my WL on hold for now and maybe get some book orders before I move. It's kind of a pain holding and unholding my account every time I post a WL book. I have some non-WL audio books posted that I think would get ordered if my account weren't on hold.

One of the tricks to using the reminders list for this is sorting by date, descending.  That will cause all the titles you just added to check the count on to be at the top of the list and not mixed in with all your real reminders.  After checking the counts, you then delete those entries.

You may then want to go back to having the books sorted with the available ones first - which isn't an option on the pull-down sort menu, but you can get back to it by using this link: http://www.paperbackswap.com/members/my_lists/reminder_list.php?sby=avail&oby=
