I discovered the new Buddy List changes by accident yesterday, and I can't figure out how to give a credit to someone if they don't accept my buddy request. Is there another way to give credits now that the Buddy List has changed? |

To return credits for books sent and received with a problem, there should be a return credit button next to the transaction. For all other credit transfers, you will have to use the buddy list. You'll just have to invite the person and have them accept. |

If it isn't for a bad transaction and they refuse to accept you as a buddy then you are out of luck. If it's for a swap then the person should know that they have to accept you as a buddy. Most swap runners have huge buddy lists. |

Thanks for the response Layne. This was not for a book marked as "received with a problem." I just wanted to give someone a credit because of their kindness and understanding. I hope the programming gets changed so that credits can be given without needing the recipient's approval. |

Julie, I doubt the programming will get changed for that, since they just changed the programming to what it is now that you can't even put someone on your buddy list without their approval. And it really wouldn't matter, since even before, they sent an email to the recipient telling them who gave them the credit, so it's never been a secret :) |

I just simply wanted to give the person a credit. I don't care about it being a secret. I did invite her to be a buddy but she has not accepted. I'll just send my suggestion to R&R. |

I agree Julie. Its made random giving of a credit a PITA. I've given away credits for people without any that had a WL come up or just because. I don't care if they know, I usually would send a PM and let them know the credit was there to use anyway. Now it seems like such a hassle to tell them to add me to their buddy list to allow it and I am afraid it would just confuse them. I also hope they do something to allow us to give credits for something besides bad transactions without going through the buddy list. |

Just one more example of the unforeseen consequences of the changes to the buddy list. |

You might want to send a regular PM to the person so it shows up in messages. It took me over a week to realize that my"old" buddy list needed attention before I could see the invites. Also, I didn't think there were any invites until I checked my normal email and saw there were some invites. The invites don't show up in messages like normal PMs within PBS. |
