I requested a book from someone.  It came back that they couldn't send due to my conditions.  The only problem is that the condition they said I had was not my condition.  This person thought I wanted large print.  I just don't want smokey books.  I couldn't find this person to say WAIT WAIT WAIT.  There is nothing listed in my transaction archive.  Is there a way to find this person??

I don't think so.

There's no way to find them Beth.  Requester Conditions are a two edged sword.  Some people deny all of them automatically, some don't read them completely, and some may deny because they find what you wrote to be unclear.  Others will read carefully and send the book if it meets conditions.

Nope,  sounds like maybe they somehow got themselves confused with another request they were also handling.  It may be that they just mixed up the text in the explaination.  But, it is gone forever.

Now, the request should have gone on to someone else- (unless it's a WL book and then you're regain your spot in line.)

You might want to double check how your conditions were listed in case something weird happened in the system but I doubt it- they probably just had two conditions books they were refusing at the same time and transposed them.

Is it possible that the book you requested was a large print book? If the person had misposted it, then she did the right thing to deny the request.

Thanks for your help.  It wasn't a wish listed book and there doesn't seem to be others in the system.  I am sure I can find it at the library.  But I will check my conditions to make sure something strange hasn't happened.  Have a great day.

You can re-wish list the book, but in looking to fulfill YOUR wish list request, the system will automatically ignore the copy that has already been rejected by you, rejected you or said that they can't meet your conditions. So there really is absolutely zero way to find the person who declined you.

Actually, if it wasn't a WL and it is the only copy in the system, if you reorder it now you will probably get that same copy offered to you. When it gets to the one copy/one wisher/requester point the system doesn't seem to be able to do the not-offered-to-a-denied-RC thing. I know when I have been the only wisher and they denied my RCs, I had to wait until their copy was gone to re-wish it. If I ordered right away, I just got the same person. You may want to turn off your RCs or add something to them to let them know that the book is OK to send.
