This new series from Molly seems to be a happy medium between the vampy supernatural Jane Jameson series and her recent romantic comedy, ...And one last thing. (Which I HIGHLY recommend, by the way.) Looks like with this series it's going to be each book is a story line one couple, then the next doing up the happily ever after of a supporting character. Which I'm more than fine with because it wraps each book up enough that there's no cliff-hanger but you'll still happily annoy your local bookseller for the next book. (Which I will)

I finished this book in a day. I tried to portion it out, I really did. But just as with my (and the main character's) addiction to sno balls, you just keep going till you're all out and kinda resentful about it.

Basic storyline is that Mo (short for a horribly embarrassing hippy-flower-child name) has escaped over-bearing parents and a ho-hum existence in Mississippi to the fish-bowl town of Grundy, AK. Insert surly manly stud-mc-werewolf-muffin, Cooper, who acts as "he's got a pine-cone up his ass...sideways." Add in some shenanigans that involve townspeople, a bear-trap and over priced undies and it's a really good end result.

And having read every published work of Molly Harper I have to think that she MUST have some very...interesting (if slightly nutty) family experiences, as every single one of her main characters has a fruit-cake family. (The kind that looks a little nutty, but ultimately is well-meaning.)

So go forth...and buy Molly Harper. And eat some Sno balls. Seriously, those things are like the food of the gods. (Sorry, I only found out about these things like two weeks ago and I'm making up for 25 years of not having them.)

Let me just say it, if there was a Grundy Alaska and naked werewolves like Cooper around... I'm moving! However, I don't have Mo's magic touch in cooking to get a whole town to take me in. *sigh* I loved this PNR and laughed quite frequently while reading it. Mo is a great character and I loved her sense of humor. Loved the way she quipped with the other characters in this book. No matter the situation, she was able to find some sort of humor within it. Oh, if I had her mouth... well, I'd be in worse trouble that I usually get in, but I'd enjoy it more. ;) She also had great names for, *ahem* well things that she found interesting. I loved her "name" for a certain body part of Cooper. I laughed every time I read it. I won't divulge what that name was specifically *evil laugh* but I need to say even though I laughed it was a compliment... ;D

Cooper and Mo's relationship was anything but easy as it usually is in a good PNR. In fact they bickered and tried to out-snark each other in the beginning. For example, he had come to see her after shifting back into human form (so no clothes *waggles eyebrows*), they argue, but Mo has the last word... and I loved it:
...I could see that he was about to make one of his patented oh-so-clever parting remarks, so I beat him to the punch.
"You're still naked!" I called smiling nastily. "It's cold outside. Expect shrinkage."
Ah yes... the sound of lovebirds. ;) There were of course moments that made you love Cooper and not just laugh or roll your eyes... like his concern for everyone be it were or human.

I give this humorous PNR book 5 stars. I so recommend this book and I know I'll be reading it again in the future.

This book is the first in the Naked Werewolf series, with the second book, How to Seduce a Naked Werewolf, having been released March 29th, 2011. The author Molly Harper is also the author of the Nice Girl's Don't... series. Her books are a mix of romance, science fiction & fantasy and the paranormal. I liked the fact that this book was full of humor and paranormal aspects as the male character is a werewolf. When I read a paranormal story I love that the main female character is a strong and funny personality. The quality of this writing was very good. A story filled with laughs, shapeshifting, sex and a murder mystery. The werewolf storyline was written in a believable way and the writing was not overly descriptive, but gave the reader enough to make it real. There is nothing worse in a novel when the author keeps going on and on about how the werewolf came to be and how it shapeshifts. The setting in Alaska was also perfect for the werewolf theme. Lots of wolves in Alaska so it was the perfect setting. Fans of this genre will love this series. I highly recommend it.

I received this book from the wonderful Ayelet Gruenspecht at Gallery Books Publicity for review purposes, but honestly I think I would have bought it anyway so I was thrilled to get a chance to read it early and to be able to share my thoughts. When I first read the title I was so intrigued, I don't read a lot of werewolf or were anything books. I know some readers love them, but I think when I read paranormal I tend to pick more vampires or lately just characters with special abilities like the ones in Jennifer Estrep's Elemental Assassin series. This was a fun departure from what I've read lately and I loved reading it.




Mo moves from Mississippi to Alaska to escape from her overly involved hippy parents. She is about to turn thirty and wants a chance to find herself and the space and freedom with which to find it in. She meets an assortment of characters in Alaska from men ready to propose to her from day one to those who don't even want to talk to her until she has made it through a winter, who think why bother to get to know someone who is going to run away as soon as it gets cold. Being that this is a paranormal romance Mo manages to fall in love with none other than a werewolf who has left his pack for reasons he is not yet ready to share with her.




I think all of us at times have wondered what it would be like to leave the world we know behind and go and have a new adventure somewhere else, but I thought it was really brave of Mo to move so far from home to a place that has such extreme temperatures. More than the temperatures I think I would personally have trouble with the amount of daylight and darkness Alaska has at times of the year. Perhaps watching the movie "30 Days of Night" wasn't such a good idea for me last year! The idea of having a whole month of darkness is not my cup of tea, i love seeing the sun every day. Temperature I could work with but darkness would be more of an issue for me!




Mo and Cooper of course run into their fair share of obstacles, but I love how they manage to work together and to bring out the best of each other. I already added the second book to my wishlist. The Art of Seducing a Naked Werewolf comes out next month.

Molly Harper is the queen of repartee. Mo Duvall-Wenstein leaves sunny Mississippi for the wilds of Grundy, Alaska after the end of her engagement. She also leaves behind her flower children parents, Saffron and Ash. Grundy is not terribly accepting of outsiders, but Mo makes a place for herself when she steps up to cook at the local saloon. Enter Cooper Graham. A dark, surly guide who doesn't play well with others. And oh, by the way, he's a werewolf. Mo figures this out for herself before he ends up at her door with a bear trap on his foot. Love the interaction between Mo and Cooper. The townspeople are colorful and add just the right twinkle to the story 4.5 stars

Mo is a great cook and starts right away at the local saloon as a cook. She meets Alan, a man perfect on paper but lacks chemistry. Then there is Cooper who gives her all the feels, but is definitely mister wrong because⦠you know a werewolf. How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf is fun, passes the Bechdel test and includes yummy foods/cooking.

I really enjoyed Molly Harper's first Jane Jameson series, so I was excited to see that she had a new series out. Like the previous series this book was hilarious. The lead character is super snarky, but has a lot of heart. The romance is sweet and sizzling, and the setting is perfect for a winter read. I listened to this book on audio and it was incredibly well done.

Mo has just moved to Alaska in an effort to escape her hippie parents, get over a relationship that totally fizzled, and just in general start over. Grundy, Alaska initially appears to be an isolated but charming town. That is until things start going strange. One of Mo's neighbor's Cooper Graham is scornful of her ability to survive the Grundy winter but when he shows up injured (in wolf form) on her porch things get a bit crazy. Then there is this giant wolf that has been killing people. Mo is beginning to wonder if everything is tied together.

My first thought when Mo started dealing with her overbearing mother is that Harper must have some mommy issues; because all of her female leads have a horrible time with their mothers. Aside from that I really enjoyed Mo; she is a down to earth, hilarious person, who is sweet and helpful to those around her but has a core of steel and toughness when she has to. Cooper is beyond drool-worthy; he is sexy, wounded, and has that whole dark brooding thing going on. He also has a wicked sense of humor, is intensely loyal, and incredibly intense in his love for Mo. He is pretty much one of the better male leads I have read about this year.

The chemistry Cooper and Mo have is amazing; I was sucked into their relationship and really rooting for things to work out between them.

I loved the small town of Grundy; Harper describes the benefits and drawbacks to living in a small town perfectly. This was an excellent winter read because most of the story takes place in the winter and over Christmas. Watching Mo adjust to extremely cold weather was hilarious, since she is from the deep south. As a Minnesotan I could relate to some of her cold weather problems and got a good chuckle out of it.

I did find Mo's quick acceptance of Cooper's werewolfiness to be a bit strange. Mo attributes it to her open-minded hippie flower child upbringing. To be fair she does question her easy acceptance a number of times, but initially she is just like "huh, so you're a werewolf, okay".

The town of Grundy is full of a number of quirky and wonderful secondary characters. All of them were well-done, very real, and fun to read about. The mystery of the mysterious deaths was also well done and I loved the way everything was wrapped up.

I will also say that as much as I enjoy Harper's books they are the type of book I can only take in small quantities. For example reading this one book was a lot of fun, but I wouldn't want to read three books in a row like this. They are a bit too fluffy and chick-lit for that. Still the book was hilarious, incredibly well done, and a fun light diversion.

Overall I really enjoyed this book a lot. It was a fun and hilarious romp. Mo is a perfect character; she is snarky, witty, yet still caring and a bit tough. Cooper was a wonderful male lead he has a dark sense of humor, is sexy as hell, and intense in his love for Mo. The chemistry between the two was sweet and a joy to read about. I loved the town of Grundy, Alaska and because of the wintry setting this book made an especially wonderful winter read. I am excited to read the next book in Harper's Naked Werewolf series called, The Art of Seducing a Naked Werewolf. I highly recommend this series to fans of humorous paranormal romance. If you enjoyed Harper's Jane Jameson series, this book was ever better than that.

On man, this was fun! Mo moves to Alaska to get away from her overbearing, hippie parents. There, she finds a job and makes friends.
I loved Mo, aka Moonflower. Cooper was okay. I didn't like him, then he got better, then got worse again (for Reasons). I liked the build-up to the relationship. I also liked that they all had personalities that were well fleshed out. I did think she came to the werewolf solution quickly, but it worked in this book.

Slow start or not, I totally loved this book! Cooper is a testy and snarky werewolf. He hates outsiders and Mo is definitely an outsider. A Mississippi transplant running from her whack-job cult parents, she's run as far as the contiguous states would allow. Though in my opinion she hasn't run far enough. As a heroine, I thought Mo was superb. She showed balls when she packed up and moved to Alaska without knowing a soul there. (This is something I've done twice now - though not Alaska, but Montana and Oregon.) Even without wanting a boyfriend, she jumped right into community events and found two men. I think being the naked werewolf, Cooper had the advantage over Alan since she dubbed his private parts the "Mighty Morphin Power Penis". Wowsa!

This is a sexy romp with lots of turmoil: moody werewolf boyfriend, take charge girlfriend, Alaska cold vs Mississippi heat, rampaging killer were-creature in the woods, etc. Not only is Alaska my thing, but my two favorite TV shows were mentioned as well (Alias and Supernatural). And when her parents come for an extended visit, she mentions fleeing to Australia - my other favorite place. Yay Molly Harper!

I have never read Molly Harper before and I'm so glad I picked up this book, even though shallow me only did it simply because the title and cover was cute. Absolutley laugh out loud funny with a bit of sexy thrown in. I couldn't put the book down. Usually I don't like it when it takes forever for a couple to get together in a romance but it worked really well here.

Will definitely look for other books by her.

At first I dont think I would like it but it was great, its about a Mississippi gal moving all the way to Alaska to get away from her hippy parents and finding a town that is more interested in her then whats going on in their town. Until she finds her self attracted to a gruff, mean man that happens to turn into a wolf.

I wasn't planning on reading this, or any other current Molly Harper books for that matter. With the exception of a handful of books, I can't stand first person perspetive in my fiction. No matter how hard i try, I find it nearly impossible to get invested in the story or care about the characters, and I hate the narrow scope that's a hallmark of first pov stories.

However, after reading reviews for How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf, I couldn't not give it a try, and it....wasn't bad. Hey, I actaully finished it, which is more then I can say for the number DNF's lining my shelves.

I liked the heroine, though after thinking about it, I cant really figure out why.
I was trying to describe her, and the only word that comes to mind, is 'sane', which is something I like my heroines to be, but not a factor that usually stands out.

And the book itsn't terribly funny, IMO, but it was entertaining...and cute and easy to read. And for a couple chapters, at least, it grabed and held my attention.

There were a few info dumps (long paragraphs giving me info that I honestly couldn't care less about ) but by and large, I didn't hate it.

I still think it would have been a gazillion times better with an omniscient view point, I like head hopping, despite all the negative reactions I always seem to be reading about the practice. IMO, if done well, it tells a more complete story, and you really get to know all the different characters better. There were so so many times I would've have loved to be in her hero's head, as well as a couple other character's.

so 3 stars, for being better than I expected, but not really living up to my review generated expectations.
