As I was wrapping a book to send a member (I never read the book since I downloaded it on my Kindle) when I noticed it wasn't in the best of conditions.  Now I can't remember how to give her a credit.  She even stated the book was unacceptable and I still am not getting the mental boost I need.  I tried requesting her for a friend as the first step and it showed on my end that I had, but she didn't receive it. Please help.

If she marked it RWP then you should be able to do it through the transaction.  If she didn't then you should be able to click on her name through the transaction (try the PM button and then click on the blue name) and there should be a Give Credit button.

It's best to do it through the transaction though. If she hasn't received the book yet and you give her a credit now, if she marks it RWP when she gets it, then you have no connected record of giving the credit back.  If she doesn't mark it received for some reason-it goes lost or she just thinks she can get away with it-then she'll get 2 creditsfor the book.

I would have just cancelled the transaction.

If she marked the book Received With A Problem, you should be able to refund the credit from your transaction archive.  If not, there should be a give credits button on her profile page.

If you haven't sent it yet then just mark "I can't mail this book" if she received it, then refund the credit from your transaction archive.

It is best to handle the credit return through the transaction, not through the "buddy" method by using the Give Credit button. If you haven't sent the book, cancel the transaction - there should be a cancel or I cannot mail button - the credit will automatically be returned when the transaction is cancelled. If you"ve marked it mailed, but not sent it, use the Contact Us link in the lower right under Company and send in Feedback asking them to cancel the transaction. If she's received the book and marked it RWAP, you can go to your Transaction Archive from your main My Account page, find the transaction and go to the details page - there you will find a Give Refund Button.

What the said.  The PBS system should handle the situation without using the 'buddy' a credit option.  Better to handle it by cancelling the transaction or RWAP, both will refund the book credit (you have to choose the option if using RWAP).
