It seems like by the time I find out about a new release  there's 90 people on the wish list already!   Sometimes I wait but sometimes I end up buying just because the WL is so long.    So how are you keeping up with all the new releases and new books by your favorite authors?

One way I do it is go to fantasticfiction.com, and look up the author and see if she/he has any new books out, copy down the ISBN, and then WL it.  Pat

I usually go to my favorite author's website and check or I check out this website.  http://www.mybgarden.com/reldate.html

My Book Garden is a good site. I also like to check author blogs. They usually mention the new books theyre working on.

I can keep up with the titles, but I can't keep up with the reading!   I have decided to suspend reading anything set in the Regency period for now, because I have too many in my TBR pile *and* have been rather disappointed with the ones I have read this year, even from favorite authors.  Maybe by the time I am caught up I will just get recommendations from you all so my WL will be a lot smaller.

I don't anymore. I have pared down my wishlist to practically nothing and just started using the reminder list. I used to try frantically to be at the beginning of the list, but now I have so many freaking unread books in Mount TBR that I was probably one of the very first in line for, it's pathetic. They probably all now have like 50 copies in the system, and I haven't even cracked the spine.

When I did keep up with all the publication dates though, I often used Amazon's search feature and the "by publication date" sort.

I hear ya Samantha!    I'm in the same boat and am much more picky about what goes onto my WL - and stays there.

I have so many books in my TBR pile, that I'm not worrying much about new releases. I figure I'll get to read them soon enough and it seems that although the WL is long, they come in the system quickly.

Well for paranormal romance books, I usually check the sticky at the top of the paranormal forum.  That's where we post all the new books that we find in hopes that we can get on the WL sooner rather than later.

I tried that here in the romance forum but it doesn't seem to be as popular as over in the paranormal forum.

Beyond that, I use Amazon or the author's websites.

I usually just check the paranormal thread in the paranormal forum, fantasticfiction, plus I get automatic updates from a lot of my favorite authors through AuthorTracker.com, and I do reviews for books...so I usually get notified way before on newer books, because I get a chance to review them.  I currently have 4 paranormal ARCs sitting here waiting to be reviewed, and working on 1 of them.

I have a hard time keeping up. I usually only do on the different series I collect and those are pretty easy to keep an eye on through the author's websites.

I haven't been lately.  I have a bunch of little pieces of paper here and there that I"ve scribbled the names of some books on that I saw at the store.  Usually if  a WL line is really long and I know that eventually the book will end up with 200 copies posted-I put it on my RL or buy it and post it as WL.  There are several on my RL that were WL when they first came out and now all of them are over posted on PBS.  I was looking on Amazon the other day for some upcoming and recent releases.

There's a neat site called FictionDB and you can pull up any genre and click for new releases then it will give the month to choose from.  The list starts with the author then the name of the book.  I go through the list and write down what I'm intrested in then I go to amazon to check the extact release date.  I know it's alot of work but hey, I love to read.  I always have my list on hand for new book day at Booksamillion.

To make a long story short - I don't keep up:P  I check everyone's WL from time to time, I have a lot of old out of print stuff, or things my boys want on my WL, so it's not heavily filled out with a lot of new releases anyway - and I watch the new book reviews at the blog sites.  Oh... and I always look at the New Books to WL thread when it bumps up the list.  That's a very helpful thread.

Ok, I am the true geek here.  I am a web programmer so I wrote a script using Amazon to return my favorite authors books ordered by publication date. I can check the lists occasionally and have them flagged when they are new.    I am usually able to get on the wishlists of my favs right away.
