When a book is requested the sender has up to "five days" to respond. With my last request the sender did not respond and the order was canceled after 6 days and 5 minutes. Is the "five days" adjusted for holidays? |

Richard-- The "5 day cancellation" happens at the same time for everyone, in the middle of the night, not exactly 120 hours after you place the request. So, it can, in theory, be a few hours more than 5 days, particularly if you ordered early in the day. It isn't a holiday thing, it always works this way. Per the Help Center: What if the sender does not respond within 5 days?

Your last "sender" might have been gone for the holidays or without a computer. Many people on PBS only have computer access from work. It's sad when your request is timed out - but then again, maybe that person is no longer active and the system will take note of the time out/no response and clear them out after a certain amount of time. It's amazing all the different books that comethorugh PBS. I have had some of the weirdest books asked for and seen them on WL. You just never know when the day is that special book will show up! Good luck. Ruth |
