I know it will undoubtedly vary by book and more popular books no doubt move more quickly than obscure ones.  That said, however, I haven't managed to receive ANY books from my WL yet.  Oops, that's not true, I did get one but I still don't know how because I was like 30 in line or something like that.  And I had one "almost" that the sender cancelled before mailing :-(.  At any rate, just wondered how long you've waited for some of the books on your WL.

Don't give up!  I've waited over a year for some WL books but they have popped up!

Also, in case you didn't know, you can check out where you are on the WL for the books you want.  Check out the Help Center if you need to know how to do that:)

i think if someone looks through your wish list and posts a book you have listed there you get the option of getting it first.

When books sit on my wishlist too long I usually go and get them somewhere else. I guess it all depends on how bad I want the book and how hard it is to find.

Also, check out the Book Bazaar. People post that they have WL books with different ISBNs than what are on the regular WLs.

You've only been a member for a little over a month - give it time.  :)  None of the books on my list are the fast moving type but lately I've been getting about one or two wishlist books a month.  That's good for me.  Before that it was roughly one every two months.

I don't know if I have received one at all yet, but I'm moving up in the line and that is all that matters to me!  Plus I have over 50 books in my TBR pile so I'm not in a huge hurry

I had 5 come up in the last week.  But I think I was the only one on the list for them.  On one of my WL books I'm like #134-I expect to end up buying it myself before I get it on my WL.  It just depends on how common the book is and how many people are ahead of you.

I have been a PBS member for a year and I still am waiting for some of my originial WL books.  However I have gotten many WL books where I was 1 of less than 10 waiting for the book.  Really depends on the popularity of the books.  I went months without getting a WL book and then I got 5 in 2 days.  It really varies on how long you have to wait.

I have 6 books that have been on my WL since the day I joined, 6/30/06, and I 'm still not #1 on any of them.

The fasted I have gotten one is two days after I wished it.  But that was very unusual.  On average it is several months.

Hang in there, Stella!  Some of mine have taken more than a year, but they do get posted eventually.  I took a look at your list and your WL books seem to be a lot like mine -- not bestsellers with lots of books moving through the system, but not so completely obscure that it's impossible to imagine them being posted.  It took a little while for my WL to get moving, and sometimes I go through slow patches, but all in all the books come in fairly regularly.

I think I got my first wishlist book in a month, but I tend to go with stuff that is super popular & released in Mass Market paperback so those go through fairly quickly.  I find that w/l as many editions of a book as possible helps....you get a better idea of what moves faster e.g. once a paperback version of a book comes out, its line usually moves much faster than the hardcover version, because its usually cheaper for people to buy and pass along.

Stella--you have a couple books that are available in paperback as well as hardcover, you may want to wishlist both if you don't care which format--as long as you have the room :-)
