To PM someone to ask if the book got delivered. The details say that it was, and I use the online postage so I have my credit, but you know it seems that lately this has been happening more often, maybe about 1/5 of the time. RIght now I have three books out, one was received a week ago, the other just Monday. I just worry about misdelivered mail or some other problem. I've had one go almost lost, when I finally PM'ed they had gotten a lot of books lately and forgot.

If you have proof (delivery confirmation), then just politely tell them that it looks like it should have been delivered on such and such date and if, not could they please keep in contact because you feel it may have been delivered to the wrong address. As long as you are polite, no one should mind a gentle reminder. Good luck! |

I wait until the book is marked "lost in the mail". It's only happened once and she really didn't have the book. It turned up 5 months later and she marked it received then. I have one now that was allegedly delivered on 4/28. If it goes lost, I'll ask about it then. |

This has happened to me as well, with the last 3 books that I mailed out. I used PBS DC and they stated delivered but it took almost 10 days before they were marked received. Maybe members are reading them first to make sure they are okay ? I don't PM because I already have my credit, but I would send a PM if the book actually went lost, to let the member know politely that DC states delivered on such a date. I would PM a few days after it's showing delivered. Mail does get misdelivered and, if the book has been, the sooner the recipient gets their PO looking for it the better. |

A few weeks ago I was on a trip when some books arrived for me. According to the DC, they arrived the day I left for the trip. I was gone for over a week and totally expected the sender to PM me to ask about it, but she was quite patient. I didn't want to mark them received until I got home and could make sure that everything was ok. But I certainly wouldn't have been upset or offended if she had sent me a message-- and if I hadn't been out of town, it would have been important that I know that they were reported delivered (because they would likely be missing if I hadn't marked them received after a day or so). |

Mail does get misdelivered and, if the book has been, the sooner the recipient gets their PO looking for it the better. That's what I thought. I'll give it until Monday before I PM them just in case they are away. I would hope they aren't waiting until they read it befor marking it received, I try very hard to send out good books surely a quick thumb through should do it. I guess I'm glad I use DC! Thanks everyone! |
