This book is written in a poetic and lyrical manner. Great if you like that, but unfortunatly I couldn't get past page 20.

I have been wanting to read this book for quite a while. i was a little disappointed in the structure of it. It is not that big of a book but took me some time to get into it and keep everybody straight.

I wasn't very fond of this book. I thought it would be a nice story about a group of women friends, but it was depressing and rather boring.

A interesting extended allegory of life as a quilt. The story circles around the women of a California quilting circle. I found it somewhat disjointed, enjoyable in parts, unique.

I absolutely L O V E this book. There is a movie of it, but as usual, there is no comparison. If you have ever been in love, and have ever had a good friend, this book will touch your heart.

I enjoyed how the author spanned several histories to tell the story of these women.

I wanted to love this book. I didn't. I liked it in some places and was bored in others. I found myself skimming (and even wanting to skip) some portions. It would have been a better story without the 'instructions' on how to actually make a quilt.

This book touched me. I resonated with the relationships that were represented. I even tried to get my husband to read it, but he couldn't get into it.

I enjoyed this book very much. It is very well written, great character development. I first saw the movie, which is different from the book, of course. Then I listened to the abridged version on tape, then I read it. It is worth reading!

This one has the cover that matches the movie with Winona Rider. It's been some time since I read it but I loved how the story evolved along with the quilt.

(from a review on the back cover) "These are beautiful individual stories, stitched into a profoundly moving whole...A spectrum of women's experience in the twentieth century." This book was made into a major motion picture.

Love this book. Note that it has a different cover than the one shown, even though the ISBN I listed is the correct one. The cover of the one I have is the movie version cover.
