3 times now in the past 30 days  packages has arrived POSTAGE DUE...

10$?!!!???...books were shipped with Pre-Paid Postage and shipper sent books in a Priority box and paid Media mail rates...Then 2 more packages one for 4$ and another for 2$...

How much is too much?

10$ didn't seem worth it to me...I could have gone right to the book store and bought the books.

Sad and disillusioned, I love to read but the pocket book only stretches so far.  :(

(Added December 3)

This was sticker-ed on to a box wrapped thoroughly with wrapping paper with no rips or tears but in a priority box...Senders Beware! (How would they know!)

Regardless of how the packaging is reconfigured or how the markings may be obliterated, any matter utilizing USPS EXPRESS or PRIORITY MAIL packaging or labeling is charged the appropriate EXPRESS or PRIORITY MAIL rate per Domestic Mail Manual 125.1.1

I my self have done this and never a word was mentioned about any Postage due.

Still...'Return to sender' works well but oh, the dissapointment!  :(

For me, I wouldn't pay for more than $1. Anything more than that and I would make the sender pay me before I claimed the book and send it back if they didn't want to. The Priority one would definitely NOT be accepted. You never have to foot the bill on books that arrive postage due. PM the sender and ask them to make it right or tell them you will mark them return to sender and with Media Mail they will have to pay the full price again to get it back.

Sorry you are getting so many. I think I have gotten maybe 2 or 3 and they were less than a quarter. Getting that many in the $s due, unless it is something obvious like the Priority box, I'd double check to make sure the local PO isn't marking things up to make and extra buck.

Holy cow, that's horrible. I don't think I've ever paid over a buck in postage due. I would definitely not accept the Priority Mail packages unless they sent me money via Paypal to cover it. Otherwise I would return it to the sender...

I would also consider reporting the member who sent you the books costing you that much money to TPTB... perhaps someone in charge can re-explain the rules about shipping to them and check to see if this member has a pattern of this behavior... You shouldn't ever have to pay to get your books like that!  It could be an honest mistake, but they should definitely be made aware that it's not okay to do that!

Yuppers, the Priority package is just over the top.  In hindsight that one should have been returned, and reported to TPTB.  Re-education or account review could be in order.

I agree with the above, anything over $1 is the result of a major shipping error & should be considered for return.

I've received (hold on a sec while I go look)...over 500 books.  Only one (possibly two) came postage due...combined they were under 20 cents.
