from an old post (I searched the forums for "tour guide"),
"For data image volunteer, contact Sherry N (RoyalTech). She's awesome!!
I'm sure she can steer you in the right direction if she's not the one you need.

Karen's got it right, Anna! I'm one of the first steps in getting on the corrections team. While you can go directly thru the feedback button, the steps will be the same after contacting them or me. The best part about contacting me, is that I don't have umpteen hundreds of people sending me feedback, so I have a 'no waiting list' response time! hahahaha
Seriously, send me a PM and I'll give you the scoop on how to get on the image or data corrections teams.
Questions recently asked of me on this subject, and my answers:
"Do you guys need more bodies on your Teams? I love finding images!! It's a challenge.
Both the Data & Image teams can always use extra bodies.
What if you can't find one? I have a book like that!"
We have special forums for the teams, and you can always share your "hard to finds" with other team members that are also obsessive about finding things, and they may get lucky for you!
We find images FOR anyone we want to, any way, or time, we want to.
"Can this be done when I have spare time or must it be done right away?"
Being on the teams gives you no deadlines, no requirements, no pressures that a regular member does not have. Come -- go -- do -- don't -- your choices, no one keeps track nor counts.
I send you a link, you read the page it takes you to, agree to abide by a few more rules than are customary on PBS (like if you find something out thru the team work, that they don't want the members to know yet, you have to promise not to tell, like maybe a new feature or such) haven't had anything come up in the year & half I've been on, but it's just a precautionary thing.
I would like to help, but I'm not sure I have the necessary skills."
I pretty much believe the only skill required is the ability to read, and I think you have that down already :)
Oh, and you have to be able to navigate the site by knowing how to go to a book's description page, click the little down arrow button, click the Data Edit line, and input correct information that you have found on a book, or correct the capitalization of the title or author, or other such things. Which again, I think you know how to do :)
For images you need to be able to click the blue icon or link at the bottom of the page, and upload the image that you've found and corrected. And, if you need help learning how to correct or adapt images for PBS, I'm always available for teaching you what you don't know.
"I find myself with some extra time on my hands and would love to help. PBS :) wondered how I go about doing that? Was told I should contact you :) "
Actually, I'm only one of 3 ways to get information about and get on the data & image teams. You can also:
"I've been helping with a couple of the data and image projects, but I don't have any little icons saying I'm doing images and edits. Am I unofficial or in the closet? Or have I not beeen working hard enough? :) "
As far as I know, you have not requested to be officially on the teams, which is how you get the little icons ;) But, we can correct that very easily! Just send me, Sarra, or PBS, a PM and ask to receive the details, and we'll be happy to send you what you need!
Hope this helps someone that's interested. If you have more questions, feel free to send a PM to myself or Sarra, or the PBS Team.
