I printed out wrapping for a book.  It states First Class is $2.15 while we know media mail is cheaper at $2.13.  I looked at the book data and the weights are correct.  This is the 2nd wrapping in 2 days that has printed out First Class for $2.15, both books were paperbacks 7-8 ounces.  Do I need to contact somone?  I thought I could do it through editing book data, but like I said, the weights and everything were correct.

Because it is only .02 more, the system will always default to FC between 6 and 7 oz since the books supposedly move faster and are usually handled better as FC instead of MM. If you want it to go will MM instead, then you will need to adjust the weight up a little so that it says over 7 oz in the system. The rate should then change to the $2.13 MM. I don't think they will change the system default on this.  If the books were between 7 and 8 ounces in the system, it should have used MM in the system because FC would be $2.32, not the $2.15. If I ever have a book close to 7 oz, I always push it over so that it will go with MM just in case my stamp or something puts it over.

eta: of course on Monday this will be mute point because FC will be cheaper up to 7 oz @ $2.19 with MM at $2.23. I don't think they'll take the .13 leap on 7-8 oz.
