I ordered a book and rec'd the wrong book.  the sender confirmed the wrong book was sent and said credit would be returned.  That was 3 days ago and there has been no response to my PM's.  I am so frustrated by her lack of response on this.  I am out a credit and now have a book that she said was to go to someone else and on top of that it is one that I have already read.  What can I do from here to get my credit back.

Well, there's little PBS will do since it is their policy not to get involved.  It has to be a big deal for them to get involved.   the system works mainly on the honor system and some people have no honor.  On the other hand they may not know how to send a credit although you only have to look on your account or on the profile of someone to see the "Send a credit" button.  Check your credit regsitry to make sure they haven't for sure before going to  PBS about it.  Try asking your Tour Guide as well.

ETA - you can't mark a book received until you receive the right book.  So go to your TG and ask or go to Live Help toget someone immediately.

If you do not receive the book you ordered, you should NOT mark anything as received.  You ordered a specific book, if you do not get some version of that book, then what you ordered was not received.  The sender should not get a credit just for sending you any book at all.

Did the sender mix up your book with someone else's?  Maybe they're waiting to hear from the other person.  They shouldn't ignore your PMs though.  The site says if they don't respond in 7 days, then use the "contact us" link at the bottom corner of every PBS page to let the PBS team know that your PMs to the other member are being ignored.

Is the sender trying to get the books to the correct people? She/he should be offering a credit or postage to have you two send the books to each other and make the transaction right.

It might be that they can't get ahold of the other person right now or can't get to a computer themselves in the last couple of days. Those of us in the upper midwest have been having massive blizzards with no travel the last couple of days. Give them a few days and if they don't respond by the 7 day deadline then contact PBS about their lack of communication.

PBS says to give people a week to respond to pms.  I had no power for 3 days last week.  So give her a chance to work this out. It could be that she's waiting for another person who got the wrong book to respond. She could be waiting for a book she sent to be marked received so she has a credit to buddy you.

Also if you didn't mark the book as received (I wouldn't have until I got the book I ordered) then you'll get your credit back when the book goes lost.  PBS cannot get involved in every dispute. They don't have the man power to do that as they are volunteers and just keeping the site up and running is a big job.
