I have some childrens books I would like to post, but I doubt just one of them is really worthy of a credit. I want to offer them as a small bundle, but I am not interested in BOB. They are also in good condition, so they don't fit in the damaged section, either. For example, I have 3 paperbacks from the "If You Give a Moose A Muffin" series that I would like to post together - meaning one credit each way. Is there a way to do this? Is there somewhere I can at least put a note that if you request one of those books the other two come with it? Should I just offer the other two if someone requests only one of them, which is doubtful?

Welcome to the forums, Kathie There's a forum called "Book Bazaar" in which you can advertise whatever deal you wish to offer. There's a red sticky thread that can orient you to the specifics of the Book Bazaar thread. Good luck. |

Hi Kathie, beside the book bazaar, you can also add the information to your profile that you will offer a deal on children's books. |

And if you scroll down a bit on the page listing all the discussion forums, under the genre forums, there's a forum for children's books. You can post a deal in the red sticky thread at the top. I'd suggest starting out with a post it just one of the forums (Book Bazaar or Children's) and being logged into the site for a bit after you post, in case you get an order quickly. Also, take a look how other people are posting these kinds of offers. You may want to tell be to both PM you and post in the forum if they are accepting your offer, for example. |

In addition to the excellent suggestions above, you can also include the information in the header for your bookshelf (go to your Bookshelf, then "Edit my Public Header") and/or in your signature area for the forums (under My Account > Settings). In each case, be sure to be clear about what folks should do -- sending you a PM tends to be easiest, plus it helps you decide who requested the deal "first", based on the time stamps.

You can them use the option of "Send book to a friend" for the extra books. This way PBS will estimate the postage for you. To use this option, you will need the address from the first book's label. |

Am I able to get a credit using these methods? How would that work? I only want one credit for the whole bundle of books. |

Usually the way that deals work is that someone would place an order for at least one of the books directly from your bookshelf. They would then PM you, or respond to your post, or both, to let you know the other titles that they want in the order. You just include them in your package. So, you could post all of the books to your bookshelf and let the person who wants them choose which one to order, (but then you need to remember to remove them from your bookshelf when you mail them) or you could post one of them to your bookshelf and write in your post which others you have that you want to send for free. That part is up to you, whichever way seems easier, I guess. If you read a handful of posts in the Bazaar, I think you will get the hang of how it works pretty quickly. If someone orders one of your books and sends a PM to get others with your deal, you don't have to actually 'remove' the others from your shelf. Instead, before you print the label/postage for the book they ordered, use the 'mail to a friend' button to send the other books. When you start to type in the person's name/address the system will actually realize that you're sending to the same person as the ordered book and will bundle them for you under one label. Adjust the weight (especially if you use printable postage) and you'll be good to go! |
