Since the lists were merged, I don't know how to put a book up on my Bookshelf and make it on Hold for the time being.

I have been doing it with books that don't have holds on them or books that have so many holds, mine won't be the first one.

I've got one now I want to add to my Bookshelf with the On Hold status.

Anyone know how to do that?

I don't think you can. You could put it on your TBR list for now though.

I would assume you post it as usual and then go into your bookshelf and put a check in the box and click on the hold key on top. I haven't tried it but by looking at it that's what I would do.

ETA: I just went and put a check in the box next to a book that's not on  hold on my bookshelf and clicked on hold above. It asked me if I wanted to put it on hold so I would say that's how you do it.

For books that don't have a waiting list, I simply posted them to my bookshelf.  Once they were there, I went in and made them not available (put a hold on them).

For the book I had with a ton of people waiting, I had to put my account on Vacation.  Then I posted the book.  Then I searched for the book and made it unavailable by putting a hold on it.  Then I took myself off vacation.

Cumbersome, but it worked.

Aside from the feature of posting a book to your shelf with the status of On Hold, I love that the lists are combined.  One less place to look.  I also love it because I can tell which books have holds & auto-holds.  That guides me toward books to read, if I can't make up my mind.
