I finally got one of the most recent Box o Book trades that I did. It was a trade with 5 books so I admit I've been worried some.

Anyway, the book are in like new condition and my daughter is thrilled to finally have them.

The problem? They seem to have lied about the date mailed: It says in the swap details that THEY MAILED
7/2/08 2:48 PM ET. Yet on the package there is a post office printed out postage that is dated: July 8th. No way that is a delayed stamp since it was printed out the day they paid the postage.

This person has a rating of 18 positive swaps. I hate to leave negitive feedback, but I feel others should be aware of this. I see this happening a lot lately so I think people should learn not to do this.

I'm leaning towards leaving neutrual feedback. Should I email the person & let them know about it or just let it go? What would you do?

Does BOB have the same questionaire about label, packaging and date mailed that "regular" orders do?  If so, entering the "real" mailed date will be documenting the problem and if they do it often enough something will happen without having to leave negative feedback.

Sadly no it doesn't. You just mark that you got it & then you can rate it & add a comment.

I'm not a "Bob-er" but I would leave positive feedback and then in the comment section use neutral language and make note of the difference in dates.  Does the sender get to see what comments you leave if you leave positive feedback, or only if you have a problem?

I would leave positive feedback, and note that the books were in excellent condition, but were mailed 6 days after they were marked mailed. If thats the biggest problem you get with a swap you are doing good IMO.

I'm not a BOB-er either, but does BOB have the same rules about shipping, i.e., need to do it withing a certain time frame to get credits (know you don't use or get credits at BOB), but if there's nothing that says when you need to ship by, then it's a moot point.  I'm sorry I'm just not that familiar with BOB.  Pat

I think that considering the person seems to have all other positive feedback, I might be more willing to give them a pass on this simply because it was a holiday weekend. The person may have gone away for the weekend, thought they would mail on the way out of town and then not been able to until they got home. Granted, I may be stretching it but considering it was a holiday weekend, I'd be more likely to cut the person some slack.

I'd probably PM before I'd do anything else.

ETA: If the person used one of those Automatic postal machines, can't they print out the postage with whatever date they choose? If not, you sure got your books fast if they were only mailed on the 8th! I'm impressed!
