When a wishlisted mmpb was offered to me, the sender pm'd me that the book she has is not a mmpb but, instead, a like-new book club hardback.   She indicated that she couldn't find an ISBN on her book so she used the ISBN for the mmpb.

I answered her that according to PBS guidelines, she couldn't do that and told her how to post a book without an ISBN.  And I told her if I cancelled the transaction, I would lose my number one place in the wishlist line.  I want the mmpb and not her hardback version.

Her last pm (slightly unclear) indicates, I think, that she cannot find a way to cancel from her end of the transaction.

I have an RC in place so I'm thinking that on her end of the transaction she might still have the "Doesn't Meet RC" button and she could cancel by clicking on that?  I'm unsure about that.

Got any ideas about how the transaction can be cancelled that will allow me to retain my number 1 spot on the wishlist?

Thanks, Jan

She should have a cancel button until she marks it mailed.  I believe it is on the left under the Title/Author/ISBN block.  If she insists that she can't find it, you could contact the team via the Contact Us link and explain the situation.  They can cancel it and explain how to cancel to her.

She will have to accept your RC to get to it, so I guess she could say it doesn't meet conditions, but that will just start the whole thing over again with the next wisher.

Most importantly, don't cancel from your end!  You will definitely lose your spot that way.

Have you accepted the book yet? The sender can't cancel the request or say it doesn't meet conditions until that has been done.

Well, if worst comes to worst, just let it time out.  That way you will go back to being number one in line as the book will be removed from her shelf.  As others have said, whatever you do - DON'T CANCEL!

Wait - "let it time out"?  Won't that remove the book from her wishlist altogether??

Yes, if you ignore a wish list offer, you will be removed from the wish list.

You need to accept the offer. She needs to decline the request using I Cannot Mail. She should not use the option to say her book doesn't meet your conditions, because then she'll just end up sending a wrong book to the next person on the WL.

Well, that's what I meant.  I took it she had accepted and the other person couldn't figure out how to cancel - ergo, it would time out the the sender didn't click that the book had been mailed.

She sought LIVE HELP and was advised to do as you suggested, Cathy.  So I have accepted the request.  She will then decline the request and eventually re-post the book using the "no ISBN" feature.

Thanks for the help!
