0891451412 Pretty good book, illustrated, about oak furniture. Photo shows a book about revolting women. PBS had picked it up from Amazon. Amazon now has changed it. Hate to throw away the book. |

Go to the book page and choose more options, then choose edit book data, you can upload a correct image here. You'll probably need to have the image saved locally so you can upload it; you can use a scanned image or one from another source, such as amazon, that you've saved to your computer. Don't throw away the books without images, it's pretty easy to have an image added, You can find many on other websites. You just need to make sure they're clear and the right file size. There are quite a few members here who are on the volunteer team that can assist you with any questions on how to improve the book listings. Go to the bottom of the page, click on Member Tools, then click on Upload Book Covers. You will need to enter the ISBN and have the picture stored locally on your PC. (under 5 Mb, in jpg format, all white edges cropped off, which can usually be done in Paint). Just out of curiosity, why would you throw it away? It's in the rules that the cover of your book does not have to match the cover in the PBS listing. Last Edited on: 8/1/13 12:22 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

What they said -- either method works for replacing an existing image. Images should be straight, cropped, in jpg format, clear, no flash glare, no Amazon arrows or other website stamps. Obviously you'll find images on the site that don't meet those guidelines. Most were imported when a data listing was imported whole cloth from another database, and Amazon and PBS both import some listings from the same unnamed source. We'd love to have a scan of the book cover to replace bad images you find. There's a team of volunteers here working on fixing bad images all the time. Also, when you submit an image to replace a blue "no image available" box, it appears pretty quickly after approval. But images that are replacing existing images can take a lot longer -- sometimes several weeks -- depending on where the database is in its update schedule and where the image is being stored.

I've had enough bad experiences with the Photonazis here, that I have sworn off uploading images. |

Oh, are you the guy who compared the volunteer team to Kim Jong Il a while back? C'mon. You know the answer to the question. You're just pot stirring, aren't you? Courtesy my disturbingly accurate memory. |

Didn't compare anyone to Kim Jong Il. Might have suggested Ron Paul followers and sheltered workshops. I did try suggesting at "edit book data" that the wrong picture be removed. Nothing happened. I'm assuming that if the team is unable to remove a wrong picture, they wouldn't be able to substitute a correct one either. |

I'm assuming that if the team is unable to remove a wrong picture, they wouldn't be able to substitute a correct one either. That's an incorrect assumption. If you upload a photo that meets the site image requirements which Patty posted above, then it will be approved. If you upload a photo that doesn't meet the site image requirements, it will not be approved, even if it's better than the one that's already there. |

Wow, caviglia, I missed out on all the fun... Damn Bob, I know it was a long time ago, so you're forgiven your forgetfulness, but you did, in fact, say this: It's part sheltered workshop and part cult, like Kim Jung-Il in Korea or Ron Paul in Iowa. I shouldn't have stepped in it, and it's my fault now for what's on the soles ofmy shoes. Last Edited on: 8/4/13 11:38 AM ET - Total times edited: 2 |
