This is just not my month! Too many family issues and forgot my vacation hold ended so a book was wishlisted and requested. I accepted it cause the book is only about 50 pages and wouldn't cost so much to send. I'm out of PBS money so I have to go to the PO to send but because of all the stress going on, I forgot that it's Thanksgiving week so our local PO closes really early this week. I can still send the book but how many stamps do I put on a book that cost 6.4 ounce? I have the forever stamps.

Up to a pound is 2.38 for Media Mail.

It might be a little less for First Class though.  I would have to go to usps.com and check the rates to be sure about the First Class.

A 7 ounce package(book) would be $2.24 with no DC.  5 x .44 = $2.20 and you need .24cents more.  You can go to USPS.COM and put in the weight and it will tell you the postage.  You would pay more for media and it is slower, $2.38.

I would recommend using First-Class Mail instead of Media Mail.  First-Class is not only cheaper than Media Mail at this weight but is also a faster mail class.

Media Mail generally takes anywhere between 2 and 9 business days whereas First-Class packages are generally delivered within 1-3.

Thanks!
