I suppose this is more of a fun story. I'm excited about the deal I got and want to share it with others...

So I wanted a Weight Watchers cookbook which came to exactly $23.00 (including tax). Here is the list of coupons and discounts I used:

1. $5 off all cookbooks Borders coupon (valid only 8/1 - 8/2).

2. $5 Borders Bucks (valid only 8/1 - 8/31).

-Usually Borders requires you to spend $150 before they award you $5 in Borders Bucks. BUT for the month of July only, they brought that limit down to $50. It was my birthday in July and I received about $50 in gift cards to Borders. I quickly earned that $5 in Borders Bucks!

3. $10 gift certificate to Borders. I earned this through mypoints.com.

So my grand total for a new cookbook came to $3.00. The cashier was thoroughly impressed and congratulated me on my coupon using skills.  :-)

Wow! What a great deal! Before I shop at any store, I always look for coupons. Once I have a $30 gift card to a store and found a coupons for $20 a $50 purchase, so I got $50 worth of stuff for $30, but it was a gift card, so it was all pretty much free!!!

My daughter and her family enjoy eating out at Sweet Tomatoes whenever they can. They get the 2 for 1 coupon offered often to those who sign up on the website and they go late in the evening so they are still there at closing time. Often they are given a bag and told to take the leftover muffins, etc. home for free. That is a treat for them. :) Blessings, Peggy

Always offering 3 books for 2 credits on my bookshelf.

In December I managed to get two books for $.99.  One was $5.99, and I had a coupon for $5 that printed off the receipt.  The other was $9.99.  I sent my mom in armed with another receipt coupon for $5 and $5 in Borders Bucks...and then she mentioned that they really owed her a penny (because when the coupons cover the cost of the item they don't charge you sales tax).  So I guess it was really two books for $1.05 with tax...

The other day I managed to get my Borders.com order to $10.  One book was $16, the other $15.  I got $6 off for using a buy 1, get 1 40% off coupon, so I had $25 exactly for free shipping.  I had $15 in Borders rewards, and voila!  I even got $.40 in my eBates account for clicking through them.  Plus I had a gift card. :P

way to go! I'm trying to decide what to use the 40% off coupon for and wishing I'd gotten the Borders card with mypoints a few weeks ago when I was checking my balance..it'd come in handy right now!
