Philipa Lowe had been separated from her husband Graham for 4 years when he died abroad. Knowing that Graham had never learned to drive a car, she is shockend to find that he was supposed to have committed suicide by driving over a cliff. Then she learns that his estate was anything but small and that he may not in fact have been her husband at the time of his death. She begins to wonder if he is really dead and embarks on an investigation during which she is confronted with the death of a stranger. When the police suspects her of his murder, Philipa takes matters into her own hands and devises a wild scheme to vindicate herself and find the killer before he finds her.
