I was expecting a Major Drummond mystery when I requested this book, and was a bit disappointed to find it a stand alone with no smart alecky JAG officer. The disappointment did not last long, as Brian Haig's writing moved me along quickly. At one point, I thought he had his protagonist do something that did not seem plausible. At the end, I was surprised to learn that the story is based on a real individual and true events. Brian Haig continues to entertain and inform. I always look forward to his books.
