To give an idea of the type of book think of Gunsmoke (just dated myself, LOL). The same pace (slow), similar type characters, level of danger and fighting and of sexual tension.
You can read the blurb to get an idea of the story plot; four siblings left to take are of the ranch after their father goes to prison. Brent is similar to Matt Dillion, intense, consumed by his responsibilities for the ranch and siblings. He is quiet and reserved with others, sometimes with his family. Crystal has a past she wants to hide from Brent and I wouldn't call her a hellion although she does seem to get into a lot of trouble, but you can't blame her for the mugging attempt and some of the other events where he comes to her rescue. Crystal is sweet, a lady who has been forced to sing in saloons for a living, but is still as pure as snow. To me, she should be more jaded, not as much as Kitty (from Gunsmoke) would be, but she has been exposed to too much to be so innocent.
The description of the west seems to follow with other type books and tv shows, so I would say it is accurate, the secondary characters are given enough attention to create an interest to want to know what happens to them yet not overtake the story.
The negatives are more of the stype of books I enjoy reading; action packed, intense scenes between the hero/herione that creates a sexual tension that steams up my glasses. Eroticism that makes you fan yourself. In this book the sexual tension (stated in the blurb as "incredible night of wild loving" is mild, sweet and cute. The love scene, well . . " his mouth sought hers in a passionate claim as he moved to make them one". OOOkkkkaaaayyyy.

It is like a cute, warm and fuzzy bunny that you can cuddle with. I prefer a roaring, raging lion that charges over and consumes me.

For the type of books that I enjoy reading, I would give this one a 2 or even drop down to a 1. But I feel it needs to be examined on the type of book it is, and in that aspect I would give it a 3.5 or 4. I would give this to my teenage daughter (if she was a teenager), or a maidenly aunt who wears her hair in a bun.

From the back: Brent-With his father about to come home after ten years in prison, the last thing Brent Hunter needed was woman trouble. And beautiful Crystal Stewart was trouble with a capital T. What else could you call a hellion who had to be rescued from one scrape after another, even carried out of a rowdy saloon? But an incredible night of wild loving convinced the man who always did right that sometimes a little wrongdoing added a whole lot of spice to life.
