Miss Sophie Cavenhurst wants her Season in London so as to meet and marry a husband as nice as her sister's. Her parents do not want to go to London, so it is arranged that she will stay with an aunt and her brother will escort her there. Sophie is a country girl and is not used to stricter town ways, so she gets in a couple of minor scrapes, during which she meets Adam, that nice man she's been looking for -- but Adam is a widower who had been very much in love with his wife, who died in childbirth along with his son, and he has zero plans to love or marry again. But they keep running into each other and nature will prevail.
This is a nice, comfortable, cosy read. The author's plain writing style does not get in the way of her story of a girl growing up and learning what her values mean.
