I'm trying to post a book, but the ISBN only brings up the hardback version and there is no paperback version listed.  My guess is that someone made a mistake orginally, because this is a Scholastic Professional Book and I've never seen a hardback.  Any ideas?

Thanks!

ETA - I tried to change it under "edit book data" but it was not an option.

In short:  You're screwed in posting it.

You have to list it as non-ISBN because it has been decided it is better to have books be unlisted by their legitimate ISBNs (and change the binding to "Unknown" for those that have more than one type) than to have a book not have a definate binding associated with it, despite the number already in the system that have "Unknown".

Yes, I happen to disagree with this decision, but a lot of other folks on the board agree with it.

So, if you want to list it, you'll have to list it as if it didn't have an ISBN.  Which means it won't trigger wish lists (make sure you match the title & author of the hardback EXACTLY and it might go out as a "similar version" email) and you can only pick one genre for it.

Theresa, when I have posted under no ISBN the books eventually have been ordered.  It just takes a little longer.  Good luck!

If it's WL-advertise it in the Book Bazaar.  Most likely it'll get picked up quickly just from appearing on the Books posted today section.

Kayote, the people on the boards don't have any voice in whether this is right or not, it was decided by PBS not the people on the boards. I don't happen to like it, because as you say, it doesn't trigger the WL relation, but PBS didn't feel it necessary to ask our opinions on how to run the site.  :)
