I have a book that the ISBN 10 matches the PBS listing, but the ISBN 13 doesn't.

Do both ISBNs have to match or only one of them? I don't know what to do with this book now. I tried amazon and Google and I can't find that the ISBN 13 that's on my book exists anywhere, I guess maybe it's a misprint. 

So now it gets interesting lol.

my book has "ISBN-10: 0-505-52421-X  ISBN-13: 978-0-505-52721-8"

The PBS listing has the same isbn 10 but the ISBN 13 is 978-0-505-52421-8  This isbn 13 matches the upc code on my book (underneath both ISBNs).

It looks to me like they might have misprinted the 13 digit ISBN, because the only difference between the 10 and 13 digit ISBNs for the same book/edition should be the first three and the very last digits.

The only difference should be the addition of the 978 and the check digit will change at the end. Must be a typo.

Maria was kind enough to help me out.  And I even got a response from the team within 2 hours (on a Friday night too). I posted here cause I didn't expect to hear back from them for a couple of days.

If you're interested, they also believe it is a misprint on the isbn 13 and said it was fine to post normally because the isbn 10 matches.
