I'd like to post a hardcover " 'Salem's Lot".  I typed in the ISBN number from inside the book - it is 0385007515.  What comes up in PBS is a hardcover, but it has a different jacket, with 464 pages.  My copy doesn't have that many pages!  This is currently on 3 member's wishlists, which struck me as odd, since I didn't think this is a hard-to-find title.

How should I handle this?? Advice??

Page # doesn't have to match so go ahead and post it.  Publisher's reuse and reissue ISBN's. Especially wiht a book as popular and older like Salem's Lot.  That ISBN has probably been reissued many times over the years.  Changes in font type, margins, extras added-can change the page count.

The only things that have to match are Title, Author, ISBN, binding Type, and if it says Large Print it has to be large print. The rest does not. If you see obvious errors (like the page count is off by 100s of pages or the description doesn't match the book) then submitting a data edit is nice.

Sometimes unusual publications get wishers that want a certain cover or extra content, while other copies have a lot of available copies. You may have one of those issues. Or the Wishers could just be leftover inactive members on a rare ISBN. Never know 'til you post it!
