I just went through the steps to post a book without an ISBN and now I have a question.  When I clicked on the book from my bookshelf, it now has an isbn.  Is this because PBS has assigned it's own isbn to it?

Yes, it should be only 5 digits as opposed to the "regulars" of 10 or 13.

Because the system is ISBN driven, the site needs to give it a number in that field so it assigns a PBS short ISBN to books posted without one. Those are now 6 digits long.

Yes Jennifer, that book was assigned a 'short' ISBN (I peeked).
