Just post them by the ISBN you have.  There can be many different ISBN on any partical title. The binding could be different, the paper could be different, etc.  There is a "similar to" notice that goes out if a member has a book on their WL and a similar book is posted. It's first come, first serve, but your different ISBN book will likely get picked up quickly.

If people want a better chance at getting WL titles, they will seek all versions of a title in the database and put them all on their WL on 48 hour request - then *not* remove the other titles unil they actually have one in their hands.  (i.e. don't remove the other WL titles just because one is offered - it might go missing in the mail!)

The year published does not have to match a book you are listing on PBS.

The only things that have to match are:

1. ISBN
2. Binding (hardcover, paperback, etc)
3. Title
4. Author
5. And, if the book is described in the PBS listing (in the title) as a Large Print book, then yours must be a large print book.

Nothing else has to match. The cover can be different (and its very common that it will be), the year published can be different, the number of pages can be different, etc. Don't post books any other way except by typing in the ISBN (and then check the binding, etc)

Thanks for that info.  I have posted some books that are on a wish list but never heard anything back.  I just couldn't figure out where they got an ISBN for a particular book

Amazon or other book places list ISBNs. And some people only want certain books so they will only WL for the one ISBN.

Always post by ISBN rather then title. Less chance of a mix up that way.

Many people just search for a title here on PBS, then choose the edition they want and click "add to wish list" w/o knowing or caring what the ISBN is. That's what I do.  If it's a book with multiple versions, I will usually add them *all* to my WL, but some people collect certain additions or certain bindings, or whatever. You can get the ISBN from the data base at PBS, or elsewhere on the internet. Publisher's websites, etc.

And to confuse the issue, books from Canada and the UK often have a different ISBN.

Some people are really picky about which version they want.  I would see how many copies of the versions you have by puttign them on your Reminder List.  If there are tons of copies then those people are either no longer active or they really want that WL version for some reason.  Or the WL version isn't posted often and they have forgotten that it's on there and they already got a copy of the book. I occassinally see books on WL where I know there are 100's of other copies posted in various bindings.  I just assume the WL ones are not common and those people are probably no longer even active.

If there are just a couple of copies or just yours posted then I would tag the WL version with 'posted under ISBN xxxx" with your ISBN#.  A couple of times now I have had a book that wasn't available on PBS but had no WL for my ISBN but were WL in other ISBN.  They were ordered pretty quickly from either my tagging or just being on the Books posted today page. I don't bother doing this if there are lots of copies of my version posted or the WL is for audio or large print.
