My daughter is taking Crime & Justice as one of her classes this Fall. They are required read a book related to the subject matter and the teacher's only suggestion was To Kill A Mockingbird. Except the seniors who have already read it as a requirement in an earlier class have to read something else. So, we need to find her a book, fiction or non-fiction, either is fine. She won't read anything gruesome and she doesn't like Grisham. She's taking 4 AP classes (Eng Lit, US Hist, Comparative Govt., and Latin V) so something that would tie into one of those as well would be nice. But all of those AP classes mean that her required reading load is already quite heavy, so something easier or shorter in length would be nice too ; ) Any suggestions would be appreciated : ) |

Meghan-It would help to know the age of your daughter. There is a lot of True Crime out there that would fit into this category, but it may not be appropriate considering her age. I personally LOVED A Rip In Heaven but it does describe the rape and murder of two girls, though not graphically. It covers the crime investigation that went terribly awry, and the trial. |

Maybe Crime and Punishment? It's been a while since I read it, but I believe that it would fit. |
