A fascinating and deep memoir of a woman who is contacted by her birth parents almost 24 years after they gave her up for adoption. Complicated and emotional. I highly recommend this book.

This true story is so interesting!! You can hardly wait to see what is next between the real mama and daddy and the "given up for adoption at birth" daughter. These two natural parents had never given up their anguish over what they did as teenagers! Broke my heart all thru the book, but, I wont reveal the last third or so of this story, but guarantee you, you will really like this book!
I tried at 17 myself for a couple of months or so to raise my baby girl, I had to give her to her grandmother, my mom , she is now pushing 53..and in her 28th year as a Board Certified Schoolteacher..and holds no grudges against me..thank you!

When 23-year-old Sarah Saffian picked up the phone in January 1993 and heard a woman's voice on the other end say, "I think I'm your birth mother," she embarked on a journey both longed for and feared by almost all adopted children, the parents who raised them, and the ones who gave them up. Saffian's case was unusual: her birth parents eventually married and had three more children, her full-blood siblings. She honestly depicts her feelings of wariness and sometimes annoyance as they gently pressed her for a reunion. It was three years before Saffian felt ready to visit Hannah Morgan and Adam Leyder.
