The Iceman Cometh
Author: Eugene O'Neill
The Iceman Cometh is the last of Eugene O'Neill's plays produced during his lifetime. One of his most compelling works, it is a distinguished successor to such plays as "Desire Under the Elms, Emperor Jones, Strange Interlude, and Mourning Becomes Electra which established O'Neill as America's leading dramatist.

I have read this at least three times. This is the greatest American play in my opinion and is even greater than what most critics consider his greatest play: Long Days Journey Into Night. This is being staged by Steppenwolf Theater here in Chicago this year and am really looking forward to seeing this.
